The Manipal Institute of Technology is known for being the first self-financing engineering colleges in the country. MIT was established in 1957. In 2000, it became a constituent institute of Manipal Academy of Higher Education [MAHE]. The Institute was founded by Dr. Tonse Madhav Ananth Pai. The Institute is approved by AICTE and QIP Centre. The college is accredited to NAAC. MIT is affiliated to Karnataka University, Mysore University, Mangalore University, Visvesvaraya Technological University [VTU].

Course Information:

Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) offers B. Tech and B.Tech (Lateral Entry) courses in various specializations. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to any of the B. Tech courses offered by the institute are 10+2 in Science stream with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects.

Candidates are further required to have an optional subject inclusive of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or any other vocational subject, and he/she should score a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and any of the optional subjects taken together. For lateral entry B.Tech, B.Sc or Diploma in the cognate discipline is mandatory.

All candidates seeking admission to any of the B. Tech courses offered by MIT are required to take the MUOET. Candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in this entrance test followed by counselling.

MET qualified candidates are invited for the counselling round. Final selection through MUOET comprises 5 rounds excluding the spot round.

Key points:

• For admission under the Foreign/NRI Category, candidates will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
• Candidates can apply both under General and Foreign/NRI categories. However, change of category from Foreign/NRI to General after admission will not be entertained.

• MET e-Hall Ticket
• Marks sheet of X and XII standard along with X passing certificate as a proof of Date of Birth
• Conduct and Character certificate obtained from School/ College last attended
• Transfer or Migration certificate
• Two recent and identical passport size colored photographs
• Copy of PAN card of the parent
• Aadhaar card of the candidate
• Authorization letter if a representative is attending on behalf of the candidate (Letter format can be downloaded from the official website)
• One set of self-attested photocopies of all of the above documents
